Custom & Fine Jewellery Vancouver
Fine jewellery shaped for the West Coast: engagement rings, wedding bands, necklaces, earrings, and bespoke commissions handcrafted in our Edmonton workshop and delivered fully insured to Vancouver. Forty-five years of Canadian goldsmithing, with custom builds completed in 7 to 10 days.
Fine Jewellery for a City Shaped by the Pacific
From Our Edmonton Bench to Your Door
Vancouver has a quiet relationship with refinement. Between the cedar and glass of Coal Harbour, the considered storefronts of South Granville, the slow walks along the seawall, and the design culture of Gastown and Granville Island, this is a city that recognizes the difference between something made and something assembled.
Our work is shaped for that sensibility: clean proportions, contemporary settings, stones chosen for cut and life rather than spectacle. Every piece is handcrafted in our Edmonton workshop and delivered fully insured to Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, North Vancouver, and across the Lower Mainland.

Engagement Rings
Modern Solitaires, Hidden Halos & Pacific Minimalism
The West Coast tends to favour engagement rings that feel personal rather than performative. A bezel-set solitaire on a brushed band. An East-West oval. A hidden halo that whispers rather than announces. Our collection answers that sensibility while still covering the classics, including round brilliant solitaires, three-stone settings, and traditional halos in every metal.
Whether you arrive with a clear vision or a single reference photo, we work with you on proportion, finger fit, and finish before any metal is cut. Available in 14k and 18k yellow, white, and rose gold, with natural or lab-grown diamonds sourced to your specifications.

Women's Wedding Bands
Stackable Bands & Contemporary Layering
A modern wedding band rarely lives alone. Our clients in Vancouver often build a small architecture on the finger: an engagement ring, a slim wedding band beneath it, sometimes a third anniversary ring added years later. We design with that long view in mind, crafting bands that sit cleanly together and age beautifully alongside one another.
Choose from polished and brushed bands, pavé eternity rings, milgrain detailing, and contoured profiles shaped specifically to fit an existing engagement ring. Available in 14k and 18k yellow, white, and rose gold, including two-tone combinations.

Men's Wedding Bands
Alternative Metals, Inlays & Built for the Outdoors
A ring that lives on the West Coast has to handle salt air, mountain weekends, and the day-to-day reality of an active lifestyle. We craft men's bands in classical 10k, 14k, and 18k gold and platinum, but we also work extensively in tantalum, titanium, damascus steel, and meteorite for clients who want something more rugged or distinctive.
Common pairings on Vancouver hands include brushed white gold with a polished centre line, hammered yellow gold for a softer, more organic feel, and inlay rings featuring real koa wood, deer antler, or carbon fibre. Inside-band engraving is standard on every piece.

Diamond Earrings
From a Morning Meeting to an Evening on Granville
The best diamond earrings are the ones that move with you. A pair of clean four-prong studs reads as polished and professional during a workday in Yaletown, then quietly elegant at a Granville Island wine bar the same evening. We craft studs from 0.20 to 2.00 carats total weight, double-row hoops, geometric drops, and custom designs built around a stone you already own.
All pieces are made in 14k and 18k white or yellow gold, with optional platinum settings for clients with sensitive skin. Custom pairs are typically completed within 7 to 10 days, fully insured and tracked door-to-door to your Vancouver address.

Necklaces & Pendants
The Art of Layering, Done Properly
Layered necklaces are everywhere in Vancouver, but the difference between effortless and cluttered comes down to chain weight, length differential, and how the pendants relate to each other. We help clients build necklace sets that work: a fine 16-inch chain with a delicate solitaire, a 20-inch chain with a slightly heavier pendant, sometimes a 24-inch chain layered beneath for depth.
Every chain and pendant is made in 14k and 18k gold, with options for diamond accents, coloured gemstones, or solid metal designs. Initials, dates, and personal symbols can be hand-engraved on most pieces. Birthstones, baby names, and custom monograms are commissioned regularly.

Diamond Necklaces
Bezel-Set Drops, Tennis Necklaces & Quiet Brilliance
A bezel-set diamond pendant on a fine chain reads as deliberate rather than decorative — the metal frames the stone cleanly without overwhelming the line of the neck. It's the most-requested diamond piece from our Vancouver clients, often as an anniversary or milestone gift, sometimes as a self-purchase. We also craft full diamond tennis necklaces, graduated solitaire designs, and station necklaces with diamonds spaced along the chain.
Available with natural or lab-grown diamonds in your choice of carat weight, colour grade, and clarity. Each piece is hand-set at our bench and balanced for the way it sits on the collarbone.

Gemstone Rings
Sapphires, Spinels & Sustainably Sourced Stones
There is a growing interest among our West Coast clients in coloured gemstones with traceable origins. Montana sapphires, lab-grown emeralds, ethically sourced rubies, and rare specialty stones like spinel, tourmaline, and Paraiba have become regular requests. We work directly with cutters and suppliers who can document where a stone came from and how it was cut.
Settings range from classical solitaires and bezel designs to multi-stone family rings holding a birthstone for each member. Custom builds welcome, including reusing a stone passed down from a grandmother or repurposing a piece you no longer wear.

Women's Diamond & Fashion Rings
Cocktail Pieces, Anniversary Rings & Quiet Statements
Our fashion ring clients in Vancouver tend to favour what we call "quiet statement" pieces — designs that hold their own across a dinner table or in a gallery opening without overwhelming the hand. East-West ovals, mixed-metal bands stacked together, single-row diamond bands worn alone, and bezel-set cocktail rings featuring a substantial sapphire or emerald are all regular commissions.
Anniversary rings are a common entry point, often a five or seven-stone band marking a decade, or a graduated diamond eternity ring marking longer. Each design is available in 14k and 18k gold, with natural or lab-grown stones.

Men's Gold & Silver Rings
Minimalist Signets & Architectural Bands
Men's rings in Vancouver lean toward architectural simplicity: a flat-top signet in matte yellow gold, a slim band in brushed sterling silver, a polished platinum signet with a single recessed initial. We craft these to your finger profile and weight preference, with engraving options ranging from classical monograms to custom symbols, coordinates, or hand-drawn marks.
For clients who want something more distinctive, we work in inlay materials including koa wood, deer antler, meteorite, carbon fibre, and turquoise. Every piece is built to hold up to daily wear and finished in the workshop.

Men's Pendants
Modern Minimalist Pendants & Solid Chains
Most of our Vancouver clients gravitate toward minimalist men's pendants: a small bar in sterling silver, a slim cross on a 22-inch chain, a recessed-initial dog tag, or a single bezel-set black diamond on a heavier link chain. We craft these in sterling silver, 10k, 14k, and 18k gold, and finish them for daily wear.
Custom commissions are common, including coordinates of a meaningful place, hand-engraved family crests, religious symbols, and pendants designed around a stone you already own. Engraving and chain customization included.

Crosses
Crucifixes, Orthodox & Coptic Crosses
Vancouver's Christian community is layered — Catholic, Anglican, Orthodox Russian and Ukrainian, Filipino devotional, Coptic, and evangelical traditions all live in the same city. We craft crosses across these traditions: Latin crosses in 10k, 14k, and 18k gold, two-tone crucifixes with diamond detail, three-bar Orthodox crosses, and Coptic designs with hand-engraved interior detailing.
Most pieces are made to order in your choice of metal, finish, and size, with chain pairing available in matching or contrasting weights. Engraving on the back is included on every custom piece.

Religious Symbols
Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, Christian & Jewish Designs
Vancouver is home to one of the largest Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist, and Chinese diaspora communities in North America, alongside long-established Christian, Jewish, and Muslim populations. Our religious jewellery collection serves all of them: Khanda and Ek Onkar pendants in 22k yellow gold, Om and Ganesh designs, Buddha and lotus pieces, Islamic calligraphy including Allah and Ayat al-Kursi, Star of David and Hamsa hand designs, and Latin and Orthodox crosses.
Every piece is respectfully handcrafted with attention to traditional form, proportion, and the sacred symbolism it carries. Custom calligraphy and engraving are available in Gurmukhi, Sanskrit, Mandarin, Arabic, Hebrew, Latin, and other scripts. Family commissions and devotional pieces welcomed.

Custom Jewellery, Shaped Around Your Idea
Built From Your Sketch, Stone or Idea
If a piece in our collection is close to what you imagine but not exactly right, or if you are starting from a sketch, a family stone, or a single sentence, we build it. Custom design is how the workshop runs every day. It is not an upcharged service.
Our process is straightforward. We start with a conversation, move to CAD design, send you renderings for approval, and only begin bench work once you have signed off on the final design.

From Sketch to Finished Piece in 7 to 10 Days
Because every step happens in our own workshop, standard custom designs are completed in 7 to 10 days, not the six to eight weeks typical of boutique retailers. Complex pieces or commissions involving custom-cut or specially sourced stones are quoted with their own timeline at the start of the consultation.
The Same Price, Ready-Made or Custom
Our pricing is identical whether you choose a finished piece from this collection or commission a custom design. There is no premium for the privilege of designing your own piece. The cost reflects the metal, the stone, and the hours at the bench. Nothing else.
A Canadian Workshop, in Continuous Operation Since 1980
Forty-Five Years at the Same Bench
Design Jewellers opened in 1980 as the first jewellery store at West Edmonton Mall, and we have been making jewellery by hand, in the same room, ever since. More than forty-five years at the same bench, by an evolving small team of goldsmiths.
CAD, casting, hand finishing, stone setting, and final polish all happen under one roof. Nothing is outsourced, and every piece passes a strict internal review before it leaves the workshop.

Every step happens under our roof:
- CAD design and wax carving: initial design files, prototyping, and approval renderings before any metal is touched.
- Casting and metalwork: in-house casting in 18k gold, 14k gold, platinum, and sterling silver.
- Stone setting: prong, bezel, channel, pavé, halo, and tension settings, all set by hand at our bench.
- Hand finishing and polishing: brushed, satin, hammered, and mirror finishes, applied by the same goldsmith who shaped the piece.
- Multi-stage quality review: every piece is inspected for metal integrity, prong security, symmetry, and finish before it is approved to ship.
