Your inherited jewellery deserves a second life. We'll transform it and charge you only for our craftsmanship.
That gold chain from your grandmother. The diamond from your mother's ring. The loose stones sitting in a drawer, waiting for something meaningful.
At Design Jewellers, we believe these pieces shouldn't collect dust. They should become something you'll actually wear.
How It Works
Bring us your gold, platinum, or gemstones, and we'll create something entirely new. You pay only for our labour and craftsmanship. The materials are already yours.
This isn't a trade-in program where we melt your gold and give you store credit. This is true transformation. Your metal becomes your new ring. Your stones find a new setting. The sentimental value stays intact while the design evolves.
What You Can Bring
Precious Metals
Old rings, broken chains, mismatched earrings, inherited pieces you'll never wear. If it's gold, platinum, or silver, we can work with it. We'll weigh your metal, assess its purity, and determine exactly how much material we have to work with.
Gemstones
Diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, rubies, or any precious stone you already own. Perhaps you have a centre stone from an old engagement ring, or loose gems passed down through generations. We'll evaluate each stone's condition and help you decide the best way to showcase it.
Complete Pieces for Redesign
Sometimes the best option is dismantling an entire piece and starting fresh. That dated cocktail ring could become a modern pendant. Those old earrings could transform into a stunning custom band.
Why Families Choose This Option
The math is straightforward. When you supply the materials, you're only paying for our expertise and time. For many families, this means getting a high-quality custom piece at a fraction of what it would cost to buy new.
But the real value goes beyond savings.
There's something powerful about wearing your grandmother's gold in a design that fits your life. The connection remains. The story continues. You're not replacing a family heirloom, you're giving it new purpose.
Our In-House Advantage
Because everything happens in our West Edmonton Mall workshop, your materials never leave our care. You can visit during the process, watch your gold being worked, see your stones being set. There's no shipping to external facilities, no anonymous hands handling your family's pieces.
This matters when the materials carry memories.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don't have enough gold?
We'll let you know upfront. If your project requires more metal than you've supplied, you can either adjust the design or pay for the additional material needed.
Can you add new stones to my existing gold?
Absolutely. Many clients bring their gold but purchase new diamonds or gemstones from us. You pay for the new stones plus labour.
What about sentimental pieces I'm nervous to change?
We understand completely. During consultation, we'll discuss all options, including designs that preserve recognizable elements of the original piece.
Is my gold insured while you're working on it?
Your materials are protected in our workshop throughout the entire process.
